Revesz Testifies at Senate Hearing on Clean Power Plan

On June 9, Richard Revesz testified at a Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing focused on the Supreme Court’s stay of the Clean Power Plan. He argued that it remains both legal and appropriate for EPA to proceed with implementation-related matters such as the finalization of model trading rules, and that the stay does not change the fact that the Clean Power Plan is on strong legal footing and is likely to be upheld. Video of the hearing is available here, and Revesz’s testimony is available here. The hearing was covered by a number of media outlets, including E&E News, Bloomberg BNA, and Courthouse News Service. Revesz also participated in a live chat about the Clean Power Plan’s legality after the hearing, and RegBlog recently discussed Policy Integrity’s paper about the Clean Power Plan’s precedents.
