Laura Figueroa received her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was a Root-Tilden-Kern Scholar. During law school, Laura focused on economic and climate justice issues through her work with New Economy Project, the Regulatory Policy Clinic, and the Caribbean Climate Justice team of the Global Justice Clinic. She was a Development Editor with the Annual Survey for American Law and interned in the chambers of the Hon. Jesse Furman.
Prior to law school, Laura served as a Community Economic Development Specialist with the Peace Corps in Paraguay, where she facilitated community-based projects on entrepreneurship and financial literacy. She holds B.A. degrees in economics and international relations from Stanford University. Laura will be clerking for Judge Cecilia Altonaga in the Southern District of Florida for term 2023.
