Recent Projects – TVA

In September 2024, TVA published its 2025 Integrated Resource Plan and accompanying environmental impact statement (EIS), requesting comments from stakeholders and the public on both documents. In its draft EIS, TVA uses values for the social cost of greenhouse gases to contextualize and monetize the results of its greenhouse gas lifecycle analysis. Policy Integrity offered recommendations on TVA’s use of these values.

Thte Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) published a Notice of Intent regarding the Kingston Fossil Plant, discussing different alternatives for retiring and replacing fossil fuel-powered energy generation facilities. We submitted comments encouraging TVA to better contextualize the climate impacts of each alternative using the social cost of greenhouse gases.
