Merchants of Doubt - Film Screening and Panel Discussion

  • March 3, 2015
  • 7:00pm ET
  • Vanderbilt Hall - Tishman Auditorium, 40 Washington Square South

Join us for a screening of an acclaimed new documentary, followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker and two prominent climate change experts.

Merchants of Doubt lifts the curtain on a secretive group of so-called “experts” who are putting on a dazzling show designed to deceive the American public on some of the most important topics in our lives, from food to chemicals to climate change.

Immediately after the film, join us for a discussion with:

  • Robert Kenner directed and produced Merchants of Doubt. His previous film, Food Inc., was nominated for an Academy Award and won two Emmys.
  • Dr. James Hansen helped bring climate change to public attention as a lead NASA climate scientist. He is now director of the Climate Science, Awareness and Solutions program at Columbia University.
  • John Schwartz is a science writer for the New York Times, focusing on climate change. He previously covered the FDA and tobacco issues for the Washington Post.

Moderator: Jayni Hein, policy director at the Institute for Policy Integrity
