Policy Integrity to Assist with New EPA Environmental Justice Program

EPA announced the launch of the Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Centers. These regional Centers will provide technical assistance, training, and related support to communities with environmental justice concerns and their partners. The Institute for Policy Integrity at NYU School of Law is part of a coalition led by WE ACT for Environmental Justice that was selected to establish the Center for EPA’s Region 2, which includes New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and eight Indian Nations. The other members of the coalition that will run the Center include South Ward Environmental Alliance, New Jersey Environmental Justice Alliance, Environmental Protection Network, Inter Metro, Clean Energy Group, and Columbia Climate School.

The Center will provide training, assistance, and capacity building on writing grant proposals, navigating federal systems such as Grants.gov and SAM.gov, and effectively managing grant funding. The Center will also provide guidance on community engagement, meeting facilitation, and translation and interpretation services. The Institute for Policy Integrity will focus on assisting groups with a variety of legal, economic, and policy matters.
