Livermore/Revesz Article Honored

A recent article by Policy Integrity’s director, Richard Revesz, and founding executive director, Michael Livermore, has been selected for inclusion in the ninth annual Environmental Law and Policy Annual Review. The Review, which is a joint project of the Environmental Law Institute and Vanderbilt Law School, compiles top environmental scholarship in the hopes of making the year’s best policy ideas more accessible to policy-makers and practitioners.

The article, Rethinking Health Based Environmental Standards addresses the parameters for regulation of pollutants under the Clean Air Act. Revesz and Livermore argue that considering health impacts alone and ignoring costs often leads to improperly lax regulations. The article was one of three chosen for inclusion in this year’s Environmental Law and Policy Annual Review. In conjunction with the publication, the Environmental Law Institute and Vanderbilt Law School will co-host an April conference in Washington, D.C., bringing together some of the authors and commenters, along with practitioners and policymakers.
